All-Star competition

I have to say, in my opinion, the All-star competition is the most exciting and entertaining part of the entire season of hockey. I believe it is more exciting then the playoffs, the juniors and the Canadians. In the All-star coemptions, there are many different activities and categories to go through in the All-star games. To begin, there is the hardest shot competition, fastest skater, best puck handler and break away challenge. For the hardest shot it’s simple pretty simple, the player gets two shots, they put the puck at the hash marks and the players start at the blue line. When they blow the horn, the player skates up and takes a slap shot into the net where it is then recorded to how fast it went. For the fastest skater, they have one or two players (depending if their racing or not) at the horn, skate around the entire rink and around the nets once, then get back to where you began. For the best puck handler, they put a series of cones around the ice and they players have to go around the cones and back before the other player does without losing control of the puck. The player must have one hundred percent control of the puck the entire time. Finally, there is the break away challenge. The players get two chances to get goals. They start at centre ice, move in on the goalie and they will try to pull off their fanciest move and to get a goal at the same time. Right after their first shot, they come back around, pick up another puck then do their second shot.

  1. Nice blog bud, infact the other day they had these challenges at the WFCU hockey arena where the Windsor spitfires play on tv. It was pretty neat to see all the next year players who are being drafted to the NHL, I got to see a bunch of different challenges and records broken by them, so yeah I agree completely with you that its very exciting.
